Job Title: Tool Maker
Reports to: Toolroom Manager

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Perform tooling maintenance on dies and follow all applicable work instructions as per tooling maintenance requests assigned by the Toolroom Manager
Assist Tool Room Lead in maintaining tooling spare parts by taking inventory
Complete emergency tooling maintenance and troubleshooting requests immediately/as requested to meet production schedule
Verify conformance of machined and/or repaired tools to specifications by checking dimensions / clearances / alignments
Make parts for various plant machines and tools as required
Fit and assemble parts and test completed tools for proper operation
Set up and carefully monitor tools for first time try outs and perform inspections prior to removing tooling from the machine
Advise Tool Lead Hand when tooling maintenance assignments cannot be completed as planned and raise any tool room equipment safety concerns and/or other safety concerns immediately
Complete tooling maintenance requests and description of work performed in Plex ERP system and tag the dies appropriately
Ensure all dies and tools are ready for production as per schedule, to avoid interruption of production and minimize unnecessary downtime
Clean tooling as required
Comply with the Company’s 5S procedures by contributing to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, cost reduction, safety and housekeeping
Responsibilities as outlined in Accurate’s Quality Management System per SOP- 400-03, Core Training Matrix (roles and responsibilities to satisfy IATF 16949)
Assume other responsibilities and tasks as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the Company
Expectations:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum two years’ experience in a tooling Maintenance position is required
Direct experience in a welding/stamping facility is preferred
Ability to use hand tools and operate tool room machines
Ability to read engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&T
Good understanding of quality control principles and processes
Intermediate understanding of English language (oral and written)
Basic Computer skills
Must be physically capable of performing work required with excellent hand-eye coordination
Willingness to learn on the job, flexible with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to changes quickly in a fast-paced environment both within a team or independently
Certifications: Licensed Tool and Die Maker Certificate Ontario/Red Seal (430A) is preferred

Working Conditions & Equipment used
The employee is exposed to high noise levels from operating machines and on the plant floor. Potential hazards from moving equipment and machine parts and skin exposure to cutting and drawing oils.
The employee is required to stand, walk, pull and bend to the floor and should have the ability to lift 30 pounds.
The employee will be required to operate the tool room machines and punch presses.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Generate purchase order from approved requisitions, follow-up to ensure delivery on time and once received matchup delivery note for actual receipt.
Support all other departments to source suppliers with quote and timing.
Cycle count of all Packaging Material and miscellaneous supplies to ensure minimum and maximum quantity maintained, for example Gloves, Boxes etc.
Review purchase orders and contracts and implement them in compliance with company policy.
Support and backup for Planning & Scheduling Manager as well as for Purchasing Manager
Perform cycle count of MRP when instructed by Purchasing Manager
Comply with the Company’s 5S procedures by contributing to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, cost reduction, safety, and housekeeping.
